Travelling halfway around the world with no real plan or idea of what you might find on the other side is rather a daunting task, more-so the closer the time comes. With nothing to do but kill time during my almost full day of transit, I though it was best to put off the impending certainty of filling out landing cards and the confusion of getting through security and entering a new country.

After my second flight and about 2-3 hours of interrupted sleep, I finally got through customs and stepped into Tokyo for the first time. There wasn’t much time to waste standing around, as the flight I had booked for Fukuoka was due to leave the next day. After meeting up with Katherine on the other side of customs, and a rush to escape the maze that was the Narita airport carpark, we finally arrived in Akihabara.
